My Week With Marilyn Movie Review

This movie focuses on a period in Marilyn

Monroe's life when she travels to England to star in

the film "The Prince and the Showgirl," with the

distinguished English actor Sir Lawrence Olivier.

Marilyn's self-esteem, however, lessens significant

as Sir Lawrence becomes increasingly dangerous of her

work ethic and acting technique. She turns to Colin Clark,

a young production assistant, for help and comfort. He

recomforts  her that she is indeed the greatest actress in

the world. In his interests. Shortly after, he is seen as her personal confidant and companion, albeit, for a brief, yet memorable week.

Eddi Redmayne, who portrays Colin Clark, is the

personification of youthful idealism in love and infatuation.

Redmayne is superb in his role and deserving of high praise.

But, it is Michelle Williams artistry as an actress that Marilyn

Monroe, one of filmdom's icons of the 20th Century, comes

alive, once again, on the silver screen. Marilyn's walk, her

quiet talk, her laughter and her

tears are all clever captured by the very talented Michelle

Williams.

A well written script, and excellent acting by the

entire cast.

One could say this film is a wishful walk down

"Memory Lane." Fans can once again fall in love and

embrace the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe, who had

a way of mesmerizing almost everyone she ever met, even

Sir Lawrence Olivier.
